saudade
Saudade (Portuguese) – a deep, emotional state of nostalgic or profound longing for something or someone that is absent, often with the understanding that the object of longing may never return. It’s more than just “missing” someone or something; it carries a mix of melancholy, love, and a bittersweet awareness of absence.
Saudade is a collection of works shaped by memory, place, and the quiet intensity of experience. Drawing on the Portuguese coast, childhood summers, and the rhythms of Mediterranean life, the pieces explore texture, light, and colour as carriers of emotion. The collection reflects a dialogue between nostalgia and presence, inviting the viewer to inhabit spaces of memory, reflection, and connection.
